Use this tool for a preliminary solar pumping plan based on how much water you need each day and the pressure and lift the pump must overcome.
How to use this calculator
Enter daily water volume, total dynamic head, pumping hours, combined pump and motor efficiency, peak sun hours and solar/drive losses. Total head includes friction and required delivery pressure as well as vertical lift.
Understanding your results
Use the flow and head requirements to compare real pump curves. Estimated electrical energy and array capacity are planning figures; they do not guarantee startup or flow during weak sunshine. Pump, drive, array and water storage need to work together.
